These partnerships expand the support available to southeast Kansas businesses and communities, providing access to expertise, funding, and programs beyond what any single organization can offer.

  • The Kansas Department of Commerce administers programs and services to support businesses, grow the economy and improve the quality of life across Kansas.

  • The Southeast Kansas Travel Region (SEKTR) is a collaborative effort of members to promote the region.

  • The Kansas SBDC at Pittsburg State University serves as the regional consulting resource for the small business owner. Whether it's an existing business looking to boost sales or a start-up trying to get off the ground, we provide our customers with quality professional and personal care. A majority of our services come at no cost.

  • K-State Research and Extension is committed to expanding human capacity by delivering educational programs and technical information that result in improved leadership skills in the areas of communication, group dynamics, conflict resolution, issue analysis, and strategic planning that can enhance the economic viability and quality of life in communities.

  • USDA Rural Development is committed to helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America. Through their programs, they help rural Americans in many ways. USDA RD offers loans, grants and loan guarantees to help create jobs and support economic development and essential services such as housing; health care; first responder services and equipment; and water, electric and communications infrastructure. USDA RD promotes economic development by supporting loans to businesses through banks, credit unions and community-managed lending pools. They offer technical assistance and information to help agricultural producers and cooperatives get started and improve the effectiveness of their operations. USDA RD provide technical assistance to help communities undertake community empowerment programs. They help rural residents buy or rent safe, affordable housing and make health and safety repairs to their homes.
